Because of the way the Jiko oven is set up, heat is produced from below and above a pizza, resulting in a crust that is charred to perfection and a topping that is slightly crispy and full of that summer barbeque flavour. None of that soggy stuff – this is a proper outdoor pizza!
Served crisp and piping hot in every slice
We know that at an event, guests will always look forward to the food. That’s why it’s important to us that every pizza is served and not left cold on serving boards waiting for your guests. Many catering companies serve their food “buffet style” on the table, only preparing new pizzas when it runs out. Our philosophy is to serve each pizza hot, charred and crispy within a few minutes of leaving the Jiko oven. So whether this is for fifty people, or for a thousand people, every guest will receive hot and delicious food.
Locally sourced ingredients
Sandy Mama’s Kitchen prides itself in using locally sourced and free range ingredients where possible. This includes sourcing all fresh vegetables and meats from local farms and businesses.
Our homemade dough is aged, and brought to proper temperature to produce an authentic thin and crispy base. For the sauce, we have kept it simple – fresh, natural and fully ripened ingredients. Tomatoes and red onions are cooked to a melting sweetness, simmered with basil and thyme, and finished with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
